LEWISVILLE - Stella Helen Copeland, 95, of rural Lewisville, passed away Saturday evening April 15, 2017 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle, Indiana. A daughter of the late Otis and Hazel (Gibson) Houchins, Stella was born in Henry County, Indiana on March 17, 1922. Stella was a graduate of Spiceland High School with the class of 1940. She had worked several years in Spiceland at the Grocery Store, Post Office, Citizens State Bank and Draper Shade. A home maker, Stella also helped her late husband Bill on the family farm. She and Bill hosted the Copeland Family Reunion for several years and will be fondly remembered for her delicious cooking, especially her noodles and rolls. She was a member of the Spiceland Methodist Church and enjoyed playing the piano in her leisure.

Survivors include 2 brothers, Ed Houchins of Spiceland and Richard Houchins of Dunreith; several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband Bill Copeland on September 2, 2010. They were married in Carthage, Indiana on April 4, 1948; 2 brothers, Howard and Robert Houchins.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Burial will follow at the Dunreith Cemetery.
