IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stanley
Eastman
January 24, 1948 – February 11, 2025
Jacksonburg - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Eastman, who left us peacefully on February 11, 2025 at the age of 77. Stan was born on January 24, 1948 in Smither's Bottom, Frankfort, Kentucky to Harold and Anna Eastman. He considered Peaks Mill Christian Church in Frankfort his home church, eventually becoming a "Timothy" to that congregation. In 1972, Stan found his way to Kentucky Christian College, where he graduated with two degrees in ministry. While studying at KCC, Stan served at Pinehurst Christian Church in Marietta, OH and Aills Chapel in Vanceburg, KY. He was a known member of the "Paden City Gang" and played on the college's inaugural baseball team. A devoted husband, father, and friend, Stan was also known for his sharp dressing, savvy bargaining skills, dry wit, fondness for all-you-can-eat buffets, and his love of Kentucky basketball (go Cats!). A career minister, Stan served at churches throughout Indiana, with tenures of 10+ years at both Maplewood Christian Church in Terre Haute and Jacksonburg Christian Church in Cambridge City, where he retired from preaching in 2020. Stan had a special heart for global missionary work and spent many weeks serving others in Honduras and Haiti with Lifeline Christian Mission. Preaching in Thailand alongside multiple translators was a favorite memory of his. Upon retiring, Stan moved to Fowler, IN, and while Parkinson's disease prevented him from attending as much as he would've liked, he was a supportive member of Journey Christian Church. Stan is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Barb, his children Laura (Ben) and Taylor (Carly), his sister Harolene, and his grandchildren, Samuel and Beatrice. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, Wendell Jenkins, and stillborn granddaughter, Daisy. A brief memorial service led by Stan's longtime friend Keith Brammel will be held at Jacksonburg Christian Church on Saturday, February 15 at 11:30am. The family invites friends and loved ones to gather and celebrate Stan's life and ministry. Stanley will be laid to rest privately at Jacksonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Stan's name to the church or ministry of your choice. Stan may have left this world, but many of his words remain with us. "Death is inevitable, grief is natural, hope is available," Stan wrote in one of his prayer journals. It is this hope that Stan's family carries with them as they say, "goodbye for now."
