MILTON- Howard "Shorty" Waugh Jr., 85, passed away on Friday morning April 12, 2013 at Arbor Trace in Richmond, Indiana. A son of the late Howard Sr. and Lulu Mae (Locke) Waugh, Shorty was born in Lima, Ohio on June 1, 1927. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after his service during World War II. Shorty has lived most of his life in Milton and the Cambridge City communities. He retired in 1988 after 32 years of service at Philco Ford Motor Company in Connersville where he worked as a truck driver. Shorty was a member of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 in Cambridge City, the 40 & 8 and the AmVets in Connersville. He was a former member of the Milton Fire Dept. and Milton Optimist Club. Shorty loved to spend time with his family and riding motorcycles. Survivors include 4 daughters, Anna (Brian) Oldham of Cambridge City, Michelle Harrison of Carmel, Darlena Fudge of Cambridge City and Terri Waugh of Colorado; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Shorty was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle M. (Stuart) Waugh on January 20, 1995; 1 son, Glenn Howard Waugh on May 18, 2005; 1 brother, Frank Waugh; 4 sisters, Ruth Wilson, Mary Roach, Marge Widau and Pauline Murley. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday April 17, 2013 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Westside Cemetery in Milton. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday April 16 from 4-8 p.m.
