DUBLIN- Shirley Jean Lakes, 71, passed away Sunday evening November 3, 2019 at her home in Dublin with her children at her side.  A daughter of the late Ted and Elizabeth (Berry) Rigney, Shirley was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 23, 1948.  Formerly of Forest, Indiana, Shirley has made her home in Dublin since 1969.  A homemaker, Shirley had worked briefly at Pinehurst Nursing Home in Centerville as a nursing assistant.

Survivors include 2 children, Brian Lakes and Rhonda Greene of Dublin; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Raymond Rigney.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lakes on October 18, 2013.  They were married in Anderson, Indiana on April 17, 1965; 2 sons, Hubert "Alan" Lakes on September 8, 1996 and Martin Wayne Lakes on May 30, 1999.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday November 8, 2019 at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
