STRAUGHN - It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Shirley Mae Giboney. Born on March 18, 1942, Shirley embarked on her eternal journey on December 27, 2025. She was an exceptional woman who was cherished by everyone who had the pleasure of her company. Her warmth and vitality will be profoundly missed.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Giboney, and her dear daughter, Shawne Land (Delayne Land), her father, John Gaddis, her mother, Velma Land, sister Loretta Burgess (William Burgess), and brother, Robert Gaddis (Helen Gaddis). Despite these losses, Shirley continued to light up the lives of those around her, reminding everyone of the resilience and strength of her spirit.
She leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry on her legacy of love and kindness. This includes her daughters, Sabrina Suttles (Robert Suttles Sr.) and Lisa Phillips (Raymond Phillips); sister Martha Smith (Everett Smith), brother Herb Gaddis (Una Gaddis); her grandchildren Renee Suttles, Tonya Holladay, Corenda Koby (Justin Koby), Robert Suttles Jr (Robert Phelps Jr.), Denise Kincaid (Randy Kincaid), Tiffany Gary, Ashley Gibson(Michael Gibson), and James Phillips; 13 great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, and nieces and nephews. Each of them holds cherished memories of Shirley that will keep her spirit alive in their hearts.
We invite all those who were touched by Shirley's life to attend a viewing on January 2nd, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location at 3:00 PM. Together, we will remember Shirley's life and honor her memory, paying tribute to the remarkable woman she was.
Shirley Mae Giboney lived a life full of love and joy. Her presence will be missed by every life she touched. Her memory continues to bring warmth and comfort to those she leaves behind. May she rest in peace
