DUBLIN - Shirley Lucille Clevenger, 74, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at Reid Hospital. Shirley was born May 18, 1943 in Savage (Clinton County) Kentucky to Robert and Ova (Massingale) Davis. Formerly of Connersville, she has made her home in the Dublin community since 1978.

Known as the "Paper Lady" she delivered newspapers for the Palladium Item from 1980 until her retirement in 2005. An avid flower and vegetable gardener, she enjoyed spending time outside and her family always said "you couldn't keep her indoors." She was also Deacon at Grace Temple in Knightstown.

Shirley is survived by her husband of nearly 56 years, Raymond Clevenger. They were married on October 7, 1961. Her two children, David Clevenger of Dublin; and Sherry (George) Mowbray of Mooreland; Four grandchildren, Daniel Jackson, David Clevenger Jr., Elizabeth Longnecker and Stacie Clevenger; and two brothers, Gene and Ralph Davis

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. Cremation will take place at the Eastern Indiana Crematory of Dublin. No services are planned at this time.
