LEWISVILLE- Everett Kenneth "Shady" Stevens was born September 27, 1929 to the late Electia (Smith) and Estell Stevens in Muncie, Indiana. Shady entered eternal life on February 2l, 2014 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. Shady was a member of the New Castle Church of Christ, State Highway 103 S. He lived most of his life in the Lewisville community and attended school there. Shady was a Nashville Recording Artist and best known locally for his recording of the Dunreith Accident. Shady was known as the Singing Marshall and his Band were the Shadetrees. Shady and the Shadetrees have had the honor of being front band at Mocking Bird Hill in Anderson for Porter Waggoner, Dolly Parton, Marty Robbins, Loretta Lynn, and George Jones and several other well known country artists. Shady retired from driving a semi truck when health forced him. Shady is survived by 3 children, daughter, Pam (Tom) Pyle, 2 sons, Steve (Judy) Stevens of New Castle, Estell H. (Rae) Stevens of Carroilton, KY; sister, Shirlee Newton; sister-in laws Betty Stevens, and Mickey Stevens; grandsons, Jake (Katy) Pyle of Nobelsville, Seth (Amy) Stevens of New Castle, Kyle Stevens (Allie O'Brein) of Colver City, CA; step granddaughter, Jami Stewert; granddaughter, Candy Jo Hunter of Muncie; great grandchildren; Tara Pyle, Addy Pyle of Nobelsville, Maren Stevens, Sean Stevens of New Castle; step great grandchildren, Kira Lasley, and Bryce Stewert. Preceded in death by his siblings- sisters, Berniece Nash and Evelyn Hall ; brothers, Phillip, Donald and Roger Stevens.; brother-in laws, Murray West, Bob Nash, Ira E. Hall and Charles Newton. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. on Wednesday February 26, 2014 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery.
