Sandra Joyce Rinehart

Straughn – Sandra Joyce Rinehart, 84, of Straughn passed away peacefully at her home the afternoon of April 8th, 2026. A daughter of the late Norval and Lucille (Smith) Ooten, Sandra was born on October 4th, 1941, in Wayne County, Kentucky. She loved gardening, playing cards and enjoyed going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, LaVern Rinehart. They were married in New Castle, Indiana on December 20, 1980, 5 sons, Keith Allen (Susanne), Kevin Lee (Holly), Bryan Dean (Lisa), Anthony Bruce (Tracie Richardson) Massengale and John Vern Rinehart; 4 daughters, Mindy Mae (Michael) Robinson, Julie Ann (Jack) Bailey, Julie Gay Bockover-Rinehart and Kaylynn Marcum; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, Joseph Ryan and Geoffery Ray.

Visitation for Sandra will be Monday April 13th, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until a time of sharing memories at 7 p.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Pastor Danny Barry to officiate.

A private family graveside service will take place at Hopewell Cemetery in Straughn at the convenience of the family.

A memorial lunch will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 14th at the Gospel Mission Church located at 66 Dublin St, Dublin, IN 47335.
