MILTON - Samuel "Sam" Morris, 87, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at his residence in Milton. He was born on August 29, 1928 in Owlsey County, Kentucky to the late Hobert and Golda (Baker) Morris. Sam has lived in the Wayne County community for over 50 years. He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Richmond and supporter of the Milton Christian Church. He worked at Ford/Visteon for over 40 years before his retirement and in his leisure enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his children, Carolyn Highmiller of Mays, Tony Morris of Milton; grandchildren, Anthony (Sunday) Morris and Nicci (Christopher) Powell; great grandchildren, Ashton, Brodie, Kane, Malory, Samuel, Allayna Faye, Zeb and Zoe. Sam was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Faye Morris on June 7, 2012. They were married on September 3, 1949 in Morris Fork, Kentucky. Grandson, Nathan Morris on January 10, 2014; twin brother, Jerry Morris; brother, Charles Morris; sisters, Suzanne Gordan, Barbara Bishop. Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Dr. Frank Holman will officiate. Burial will follow at Westside Cemetery, Milton.
