MILTON - Roy Daniel Moffitt, 66, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home in Milton, Indiana. He was born on February 27, 1949 in New Castle, Indiana to Morton and Alice (Darling) Moffitt. Roy has lived in the Western Wayne Community for most of his life, graduating from Lincoln High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Roy worked as a brick mason and was a member of the Local #4 Indiana/Kentucky Brick Masons Union. He was also a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Cambridge City and enjoyed fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting and helping his neighbors. Survivors include his wife, the former Amy Ellen Conner whom he married on April 9, 1993 in Richmond, Indiana; his mother; son, Roy James (Dee) Moffitt of Hagerstown; 3 granddaughters, Paula Shepherd, Ashley Moffitt, Kaitlyn Moffitt; great-granddaughter, Charizma Watson; siblings, Dorothy (Phil) Mullen of Richmond, Frances Pickett of Cambridge City, Gloria (Marion) Pickett of Dublin, Frank (Mickey) Moffitt of Cambridge City, Alta Roach of Hagerstown, Joe (Robin) Moffitt of Cambridge City, Susie Moffitt of Cambridge City. Roy was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Shepherd; his father; brother, Paul Moffitt. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Cambridge City. Father Joseph Rautenberg will officiate. Burial with Military Honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard and the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 will follow at Westside Cemetery, Milton. Family and friends may gather from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.
