Economy - Roy Conner, 86, passed away on May 23, 2026, after a long illness. He was born on March 30, 1940, to Vivian and Ida Conner in New Castle, Indiana. Roy was preceded in death by his son, Steve Conner of Texas; his daughter, Robin Eckman, also of Texas; his brother, James Howard Conner of Kentucky; and his niece, Gaye Conner Gribbons of New Castle.

Roy graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1958 and went on to earn a degree in architectural design from Ball State University. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in the missile division, an experience he often reflected on with pride and gratitude.

After living in New Castle for many years, Roy moved to Texas, where he spent four decades building a successful career in architectural design. He was known for his creativity, attention to detail, and the satisfaction he took in seeing his work come to life.

Roy is survived by his son, Christopher Conner; his grandson, Jake Eckman; his sister, Jane Rummel; two nephews, Greg Conner and Kyle Rummel; and a great niece Luna Rummel.

Visitation for Roy will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28th, 2026, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29th, 2026, also at the funeral home, burial to follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown.
