NEW LISBON-  Ronald Eugene Short, 82, passed away early Friday morning September 24, 2021 at Henry Community Health in New Castle, Indiana from complications of COVID19.  A son of the late Eugene W. and Loraine C. (Cregar) Short, Ron was born in Dublin, Indiana on February 23, 1939.  Following graduation from Knightstown High School, Ron attended Indiana University and Ball State University.  Formerly of Indianapolis, Ron and his wife have made their home in New Lisbon for the past 35 years.  He worked as a computer programmer and later was the owner/operator of the  Knightstown Laundromat.

Ron is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Mary B. Hayes.  They were married at West River Friends Meeting on December 31, 1966; 1 sister, Nancy Parker; 2 nephews, Jim Clay and Darrol Parker; 1 niece, Melissa Tabor.

Visitation will be at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, on Friday October 1, 2021 from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 4 p.m., cremation will follow.
