LEWISVILLE- Roger Glenn Stevens, 66, passed away at his home in Lewisville, Indiana on Thursday November 3, 2011. A son of the late Estell and Electia Edna (Smith) Stevens, Roger was born in New Castle, Indiana on October 21, 1945 and lived most of his life in the Lewisville community. He had worked at M & D in Cambridge City and Philco in Connersville before retiring in 1993 from New Castle Chrysler Corporation after 26 years of service. Roger enjoyed playing guitar and was an avid horseman and member of the NRA. He was also a member of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA) where he qualified twice for the World Finalist Competition which were held in Arizona. Survivors include his wife the former Mickey R. Howe. They were married in Lewisville on July 1, 1967. 1 daughter, Molly (Mark) Hawes of Greenville, OH and 1 son, Roger Estell Stevens of Greenville, OH; 2 granddaughters, Bailey McFall and Hunter Stevens; 2 grandsons, Lucien and Caleb Stevens; 1 great grandson, Briley McFall; 3 siblings, Everett "Shady" Stevens of New Castle, Donald Stevens of Spiceland and Shirley Newton of Greenfield; nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Berniece Nash and Evelyn Hall and a 4 year old brother, Phillip Stevens. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday November 7, 2011 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday November 6 at the funeral home.
