Connersville- Roger W. Nichols, 63, passed away Thursday morning August 9, 2012 at his home in Connersville, Indiana. Roger was born in New Castle, Indiana on April 15, 1949. He was raised in the Cambridge City community and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1967. Roger has made his home in Connersville for the past 18 years. Roger was well know for his talent in auto body repair. He enjoyed any kind of automobile restoration work and building model airplanes. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, the former Kathie J. Friend. They were married on June 28, 1994 in Cambridge City; mother, Suzanne (Butler) Nichols of Connersville; 2 daughters, Lisa Nichols of Hershey, PA and Kimberly Waddell of Hartford City; 1 son, Daniel Nichols of Dublin; 6 grandchildren, Breanna, Caden and Sage Nichols, Morgan Ritter, Tempest and Draven Gunnell; 1 brother, Brian Nichols of Lakeworth, FL; 2 sisters, Lindsey Sturgeon of Decatur, TX and Kristina Gilley of Connersville; 5 step children; nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Lindsey Nichols on August 20, 2008. Following cremation, visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 4 p.m. on Saturday August 18, 2012 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin.
