CAMBRIDGE CITY-  Rita Maureen Pierce, 86, passed away Tuesday morning April 29, 2025 at the Willows of New Castle. A daughter of the late Lawrence and Amy (Hess) Dolan, Rita was born in Richmond, Indiana on July 8, 1938.  A lifelong resident of Cambridge City, Rita was a graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1956.  Rita was a woman of faith and member of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge City. She loved her family, enjoyed porch sitting, reading and cooking.

Survivors include 2 children, Dianna Patmore and Dan Pierce; 4 grandchildren Brandi Bowne, Shawn and Christopher Longnecker and D.J. Pierce; 5 great grandchildren, Jasmine Click, Chloee Bowne, Hailie Asher, Ethan and Hoyt Longnecker; 2 great-great grandchildren, Greyson and Emerson Click.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Basil Richard "Dick" Pierce on March 5, 2008.  They were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church on December 22, 1956; and her brother, James Dolan.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday May 3, 2025 at Marshall and Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.  Pastor Mal Gibson will officiate.  Private Graveside services will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown.
