SPICELAND - Richard Dwight Swejkar, 87, passed away at his home west of Lewisville on Wednesday June 27, 2018 with his family at his side. A son of the late Frank and Adel (Horde) Swejkar, Richard was born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on October 29, 1930. He has been a Henry County resident since 1954. Richard was a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church of New Castle. He worked as a truck driver, delivering recreational vehicles throughout the country for manufacturers in northern Indiana. A veteran, Richard honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Vena Gregory whom he married on April 22, 1954. 3 children, Gary Wayne (Teresa) Swejkar of Centerville, Teresa Lynn (Tim) Pickett of New Castle and Roger Dwight Swejkar of Muncie; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Rev. Tony Piper will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery in Lewisville.
