LEWISVILLE- Richard F. Osting, 71, passed away on Monday morning January 7, 2013 at Saint Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, Indiana. Richard was born in Greensburg, Indiana on April 11, 1941. Richard lived most of his life in the Lewisville community and graduated from high school there with the class of 1959. Richard had also graduated from business college and retired from the business office at New Castle Chrysler Corp. in 1998 after 30 years of service. He had also been employed by the Lewisville Elevator, World Bestas in New Castle and Central Indiana Supply Co. in Indianapolis. Richard was a member of the U.A.W. Local 371, Masonic Lodge #72 F & AM, Lewisville Lions Club, Lewisville Town Council, the Lewisville Methodist Church and was a founding member of the Lewisville Fair Board. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his yard and his dogs and cats through the years. Survivors include his 2 daughters, Susie (Matt) Thompson of New Castle and Cindy (Alan) Brown of Middletown; 7 granddaughters, Brooke Chesher, Jami Contino, Jenny Zitani, Ashley Sparks, Abbie Howell, Betsy Tuttle and Emily Thompson; 5 great grandsons; 6 great granddaughters; aunt, Eleanor Hatcher of Washington state; close friends, John Speed, Alice Crawford, Carol Huffman, Art and Ruth Whitaker and family. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Opal L. (Ailes) Osting on December 4, 1992; his father, Howard F. Osting on December 30, 1998 and an infant daughter, Jennifer Lynn on November 11, 1965. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday January 11, 2013 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Rev. Arthur Whitaker will officiate. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday January 10 at the funeral home.
