Richmond: Richard "Dick" Norman Fry, 73, of Richmond, passed away Thursday July 16, 2009 at Reid Hospital and Health Care. He was born on November 14, 1935 in Wayne County, IN the son of Vernon and Katherine (Stant) Fry. On March 14, 1955 in Lynn, IN he married Bonnie L. Galbreath whom survives. He was raised in Bentonville and Straughn area, and a member of the Methodist and Ebenezer Presbytarian Church, Richard is a graduate from Lincoln High School class of 1954, where he played football on the first Lincoln football team. He was a Ham Radio Operator and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Surviving relatives include; his wife of 54 years Bonnie L (Galbreath) Fry of Richmond, daughters; Starletta "Star" Lane of Richmond, Judy (husband Rodney) Whallon of Richmond, son; Duane A Fry of Richmond, 7 grandchildren; Tara Hilbert, Travis Lane, Austin Fry, Ian Fry, Samantha Whallon, Courtney Whallon and Adam Whallon, 2 great-grandchildren; Megan Grace and David Michael Hilbert, sisters; Barbara Smith of Centerville and Rita (husband Nolan) Boyd of OH ; several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death, parents, brother; William "Bill" Fry. Memorial service will be Monday July 20, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hillcrest Baptist Church, with pastor Daryll Kepler officating the service. Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
