CAMBRIDGE CITY, INDIANA - Richard Darrell Burke, 75, of Cambridge City passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at his home. He was born in Albany, Indiana to Raymond and Marie (Martin) Burke on April 4, 1938. Richard is a 1956 graduate of Albany High School. He served his country in the United States Army as a serviceman and a boxer while stationed in Germany. Richard was an avid mechanic and often assisted as a counselor for the Dunn Center. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, car racing, bingo, and playing cards. Survivors include his spouse Marcia Upthegrove; children Raymond Burke, Randy Burke, Eric Burke, Michael (Glena) Burke, Laura Disborough; step-son Darrell Upthegrove; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Judi (Harold) Ringo; many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Quantenia Edwards, Joyce Burke; brothers Don Burke, Mick Burke, Wayne Burke. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 1993 Cumberland Street, Dublin, Indiana 47335. Rev. Jim Noggle will officiate. Following the service, family and friends may gather at 3:00 p.m. for burial at Strong Cemetery in Albany, Indiana.
