STRAUGHN- Rex A. George, 60, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Straughn, Indiana on Wednesday morning November 27, 2013. Rex was born in New Castle, Indiana on June 9, 1953. He lived most of his life in the Straughn community and graduated from Tri High School with the class of 1971. Rex served his country in the United States Army and after being stationed in Korea he was honorably discharged on August 19, 1974. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Muncie- Local #855. In his leisure, Rex enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and playing blues music on his harmonica with various local bands. Survivors include his mother, Avadot (Frost) George; 2 children, Amy Jo George and David George all of Straughn; 2 granddaughters, Angela Gorman and Rebecca Sherwood; 1 brother, Brad Frost George of Frankfort, KY. Rex was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd R. George on June 14, 1979 and his wife, Rebecca Lou (Gorman) George on April 2, 1994. Visitation and a time to celebrate Rex's life will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday December 4, 2013 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.
