IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reola
Drennen
February 19, 1936 – November 25, 2024
CAMBRIDGE CITY- Reola Patsy Drennen, 88, passed away peacefully with her loved ones at her side on Monday afternoon November 25, 2024. A daughter of the late Carl Dwight and Nannie Blanche (Dressler) Henderson, Reola was born in Covington, Virginia on February 19, 1936. When she was eight months old, Reola and her family moved to the Cambridge City community to a farm on Goose Heaven Road. Reola was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School where she was voted the Senior Prom Queen. She also played baritone in the Wampus Cat Marching Band. Reola married the love of her life, Richard E. Drennen on October 14, 1955 at the Cambridge City Church of the Nazarene. She worked for C.R. Golay in the administration office from 1970-1973. In 1975 she was hired by Hook's Drug Store and was employed by them and their successors until her retirement in 2001 from CVS. Reola was a devoted wife and mother and saw to it that her kids would experience all types of activities. After her husband Richard's service in the Korean War, he wasn't much on sleeping outside on the ground, but Reola made sure they would all go camping and taught her children about the outdoors and how to fish. During the 1970's, Reola enjoyed volunteering at the Huddleston House for their Harvest Dinners. Reola was an animal lover. She enjoyed watching squirrels on her bird feeders and the neighborhood pets knew where they could go and get a good meal.
Survivors include 3 children, Terry (Brad) Gettinger, Greg (Aleesa) Drennen and Sheri Goble; 3 grandchildren, Brandy (Brian) Crawford, Allison Bailey and Lathan Goble; 3 great grandsons, Evan and Connor Crawford and Archie Goble; sister in-law, Margery Henderson; several nieces and nephews.
Reola was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Richard Everett Drennen on January 8, 2023; 3 brothers, Nelson Entsminger, Carl D. Henderson Jr. and Leo V. Henderson.
Reola's family would like to say "Thank You!" to the staff at Forest Park Health Campus for the great care they have given their mom for the past ten months.
