CAMBRIDGE CITY - Phyllis June Woodward, 86, of rural Cambridge City, died Monday, September 26 at 5:27 p.m. at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle, Indiana. She was born August 5, 1930 in Greensboro, Indiana to Sam and Vera Wallace. On August 11, 1950, she married Max Thomas Woodward of Straughn. He preceded her in death in 1992. A resident of Henry County for most of her life, she graduated from Kennard High School in 1948. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who worked on the Woodward farm, located a mile outside of Straughn with Max for over 40 years. Phyllis was a founding member of Straughn Community Chapel, where she attended church until moving to Greencastle in 2014 to live with daughter Sandy and son-in-law Jack Meyers. Phyllis enjoyed reading inspirational novels, spending time in daily Bible devotions, cooking, painting, knitting, solving word search puzzles, watching the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Hoosiers basketball games on television, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jack Myers of Fillmore; brother and sister-in-law Kedric and Anita Wallace of Spiceland; sisters-in-law Nelle Wallace and Annis Wallace both of Greensboro; daughter-in-law Cathy Woodward of Milan; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Matthew and Carrie Tibbs of Kendallville; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Christy and Brian Moline of Milan; grandson and granddaughter-in-law Joe and Megan Myers of Fillmore; great-grandchildren Olivia Tibbs; Ava and Morgan Moline; Peyton, Grace and Brady Myers. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; children, Thomas Woodward and Jeri Tibbs; brothers Ray, Sammie, Phillip and Donald "Donnie" Wallace; sister-in-law, Doris Wallace, and mother-in-law Geraldine Beeson. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. on Thursday September 29 2016 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery.
