LEWISVILLE - Peggy Joyce Weber, 82, of Lewisville passed away early Thursday morning, December 31, 2015 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. A daughter of the late Alger Tensley and Frances Rosalie "Shorty" (Hill) Finchum, Peggy was born on August 18, 1933 in Dandridge, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School with the class of 1951. Peggy worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for several industries including Ed Picker Insurance. In 1998, she retired from the State of Indiana where she was a bookkeeper for PERF. Peggy was an active member of the Spiceland Friends Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. In her leisure, she enjoyed reading, Colts football and watching her children and grandchildren participate in extracurricular activities. Survivors include her husband, Thomas D. Weber whom she married on December 27, 1953 at the Chicago Corner Christian Church near Hagerstown. Children, Joanne (Steven) Anderson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Paul S. (Debra) Weber of Lewisville; 5 grandchildren, Kevin Weber, Ian Ray, Colin Ray, Nathan Weber, Monica Weber-Altman; 2 step-grandchildren, Cody & Tyler Anderson; 6 great and step great-grandchildren; nephew, Kent McFarland; nieces, Nanette Welsh, Diane Kendrick; close friends, Chuck & Nancy Taylor. Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, C. Maxine McFarland on September 26, 2015; foster brother, Bud Schmidt; brother-in-law, David McFarland. A celebration of life for Peggy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville. David Brock will officiate. Burial will take place in Circle Grove Cemetery, Spiceland at the convenience of the family.
