GREENS FORK- Patricia "Patty" Weiss, 95, died peacefully at her home on Thursday morning April 4th, 2024, surrounded by her family. A daughter of the late George and Helen (Decker) Rihm Jr., she was born at home in Cambridge City on May 18th, 1928. Patty was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Patty loved to play violin and sing with her late husband, Herbert, who played the guitar. They shared their music with others on the WKBV radio station in Richmond, Patty also played violin for the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and sang in her church choir. She was a member of the Psi Iota Psi sorority, Daughters of Isabella, and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. Patty was an avid bird watcher and loved to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a great Easter Saturday with her family.
Patty is survived by one brother, Bill Rihm of Cambridge City; eleven children, Paul (Debbie) Weiss of Greens Fork, John (Pam) Weiss of Riverside, CA, Rita (Gene) Schneider of Greens Fork, Marion Weiss of Columbia, MO, Tony (Cathy) Weiss of Durham, NC, Ben (Jewell) Weiss of Mansfield, OH, Andy (Sandy) Weiss of Greens Fork, Beth (Mark) Grabhorn of Indianapolis, Ruth (Mike) Allen of Seattle, WA, Greg (Reo) Weiss of New Zealand, Karl (Jill) Weiss Peoria, IL; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; sister in-law, LaDonna Rihm; numerous nieces and nephews.
Patty is preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Herbert W. Weiss, on November 4th, 1989; two brothers, Walter Rihm of Cambridge City and Tom Rihm of Straughn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday April 12th, 2024, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Cambridge City. Fr. John Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday April 11th at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.
