Obituary

Fayette County- Orlan Glenn Golay, 92, of rural Fayette County passed away on Tuesday August 24, 2010 at Fayette Regional Hospital in Connersville, Indiana. A son of the late Glenn and Marie (Hall) Golay, Orlan was born in Dublin, Indiana on January 25, 1918. A long time Fayette County farmer, Orlan has lived at his current home for the past 70 years where he operated a dairy farm from 1947-2002. He was a former Dairy Director at the Fayette County Free Fair and worked at the New Castle and Middletown Sale Barns. He enjoyed playing euchre. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, the former Martha Barbara Conley. They were married in Cambridge City on July 23, 1947. 4 daughters- Anita (Steve)Miller, Paula (Robert) Foster , Karen (Chane) Tower all of Connersville and Ronda (David) Chew of Spiceland; son-inlaw- Phillip Michael of Richmond, 14 grandchildren- John Michael, Joe (Luanne) Michael , Keri Lackey, Steve (Tracy) Miller, Chris Miller, Dustin (Erica) Miller, Nikki Miller, Orlan (Emily)Foster , Doshia (Don) Burk, Kevin Tower, Katie (Mark) Hokanson, Emily (Casey) Wigginton, Jordan and Briana Chew; 11 great grandchildren- Andrew Michael, John and Samantha Lackey, Laury and Aulden Miller, Orlan, Stella and Silas Foster, Foster, Parker and Taylor Burk; 2 step-great grandchildren, Lesley and Alexa Treml; 2 sisters- Esther Kochersperger of Centerville and Reata (Roy) Snedegar of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews. Orlan was preceded in death by 2 daughters- Nancy R. Golay, August 20, 1945 and Marlene Michael, September 14, 2005; great-granddaughter- Marissa Michael, December 29, 1995; sister- Arlene Sutton. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 2 p.m. on Saturday August 28 2010 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Jim Nichols of the New Hope Church will officiate. Burial will follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Bentonville Fire Department- P.O.
