Obituary

BENTONVILLE- Inez Opal Lamberson, 91, passed away on Sunday July 7, 2013 at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville, Indiana. A daughter of the late William G. Lamberson and Lulu (Garver) Lamberson-Smith, Opal was born in Bentonville, Indiana on March 27, 1922. Opal grew up in the Bentonville community and graduated from high school there in 1940. She then graduated from Ball State Teachers College in Muncie and taught school in the surrounding communities of New Lisbon, Bentonville, Alquina and Connersville. Opal retired after 30 years of teaching and was a member of the Fayette County Retired Teachers Association and the Bentonville Cemetery Association. She has lived her whole life in Fayette and Wayne counties and most recently has made her home in Richmond. Opal is survived by several cousins and her extended family of Robert L. Turner of New Paris, OH, Roscoe "Herb" Turner of Cambridge City and Kathy (Turner) Rosemeyer of Brownsburg; her adopted grandchildren, Teresa Kaiser, Dave and Darrin Turner, Greg and Mike Rosemeyer, John Turner, Beth Ann Moistner, Kathy Meal, Susan Turner, Scott Newhouse, Lisa and Leona Turner. A graveside service will be held at the Bentonville Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 11, 2013 . Visitation will be from 4- 7 p. m. on Wednesday July 10 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. In keeping with Opal's love of teaching and children, Memorial Contributions can be made to Western Wayne Dollars for Scholars- c/o Lincoln High School, 215 E. Parkway Drive- Cambridge City, IN 47327. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
