IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nathaniel
Neal
June 14, 1982 – August 14, 2024
LEWISVILLE- Nathaniel David Neal, 42 of Lewisville Indiana passed away on Wednesday the 14th of August 2024 at 5:40 in the morning.
"Nate" by those who knew him, "Uncle Nate" by his adoring niece and nephews and "Nater Taters" by those who were close to him, was born on June 14th, 1982. He was raised in Lewisville Indiana.
In his formative years Nate could be found outside more than he was inside either barefoot or wearing his favorite cowboy boots. He was fond of law enforcement at an early age and could be found listening to police scanners as a hobby. In his teenage years he joined the Explorer Scout program for the Henry County Sheriff's Dept. Nate graduated from Tri Jr/Sr High School in 2000. His proclivity for law enforcement would then continue as he started working as a deputy at the Henry County Courthouse. He held a "deputy in reserve" position for the county until he became the Marshal for the Town of Cadiz. His final career in law enforcement was as a deputy for the Marion County Sheriff's Dept. He then became a volunteer firefighter for the Lewisville Fire Dept. before doing maintenance work at the same school he graduated from.
Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Nate was all these things to many different people. If he wasn't helping his mom and dad out with various home improvement projects, it was for his sister and brother in-law. If you didn't find him with a tool in his hand it was because he was busy spoiling his niece and nephews rotten. A trait their parents would half-heartedly disapprove of on the surface but loved even more in secret.
To his friends Nate was overtly genuine, and forever supportive. A protector. He always made a point to show up when in need. He was so very inclusive, wanting everyone to feel a part of his inner circle.
Nate was preceded in death by his uncles, David and Kenny Fairchild. He is survived by his mother and father, Becky and Bill Neal; his sister, Missy Mercedes (Neal) (Hector Mercedes); his nephews, Liam and Lucian Mercedes; niece, Autumn Lacee Fairchild and her children, Jordan Thorpe and Brooklyn Chenevert.
Please join us at Nate's Celebration of Life from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday August 20th, 2024 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home- Lewisville Chapel. Private burial services will be at the convenience of the family in the Lewisville Cemetery.
