CAMBRIDGE CITY - Nancy Darter, 75, of Cambridge City passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. A daughter of the late Morris and Margaret (Hern) Jobe, Nancy was born on April 15, 1940 in Milton. She attended Milton High School and worked as Treasurer and Secretary at Hillside Nursery from 1971 until her retirement in 2003. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Nancy enjoyed antiquing, crocheting, baking, working with Dr. & Norma Bertsch, and visiting with people especially at Building 125 where she has worked since her retirement. Nancy was a member of Milton Christian Church. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Pete Darter, whom she married on February 22, 1957 in Peru, Indiana; children, Greg Darter of Milton, Kim (Gale) Huntsman of Cambridge City; granddaughters, Amanda (Corey) Hawkins of Fishers, Stephanie Huntsman of Carmel; brother, Donald (Billie Jean) Jobe of Brookville. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Billy Jobe. Following cremation, a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
