CAMBRIDGE CITY- U.S. Army, Retired 1ST Sergeant, Michael Brent Hay, 70, passed away at his home in rural Cambridge City peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning March 2, 2025.  A son of Harvey Brent and Betty Katherine (Brooks) Hay, Mike was born in New Castle Indiana on April 27, 1954.  He married the love of his life, the former Gina Boyd and they spent fifty wonderful years together before her passing on June 18, 2024.

Mike is survived by and a loving father to his children, Jamie C. (Tim) Butcher and Joshua M. Hay; and Papaw to 4 grandchildren- granddaughters, Autumn (Kasey) and Raegan (Conner), grandsons, TJ and Max; great Papaw of Kennedy, Carter and Axel; sister, Debbie (her late husband, Mark); nieces and nephews.

Mike enjoyed taking his boat out on the lake every chance he had and spending time with his family.

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". John 14:6.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday March 7, 2025 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Doug Shilts will officiate.  Burial with Military Honors provided by contingents of the United States Army Honor Guard assisted by Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 will follow at Jacksonburg Cemetery.
