NEW CASTLE- Mary Emma Wright, 96, passed away on Wednesday morning May 1, 2013 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle, Indiana. A daughter of the late William James and Anna (Kelly) Odgers, Mary Emma was born in Ogden, Indiana on December 22, 1916. Mary Emma graduated from the Spiceland Academy with the class of 1935. She was married to Harold Bell "Dunk" Wright on April 24, 1941 at the New Castle First Friends Meeting. She worked at New Castle Chrysler Corp. from Sept. 30, 1936 - Dec. 31, 1972. Mary Emma was a member of the New Castle First Friends Meeting, Friendship Weavers Basket Guild of New Castle, Red Hat Society, Eastern Star #116 and Indiana Farm Bureau of Greensboro, Henry County Art Guild. Mary Emma will always be remembered as a "go-getter" who was very creative and enjoyed needlecraft, gardening and making baskets. Mary Emma was preceded in death by her husband in Nov. of 1975; sister, Elizabeth Anna Applegate; brother, William Edward Odgers and niece, Sharon (Sharrett) Shively. Survivors include nieces and nephew from the Wright family, Karen Lackey of Indianapolis, Carlene Crevistion of Mooreland, Dianne Welchko of Michigan, nephew Rex Wright of Spiceland; niece and great nephews from the Odgers family, Marge Manton of California, Scott (Kelly) Sharrett of Greenwood and Todd (Lisa) Sharrett of Mt. Summit; special friend and caregiver, Marilyn (Mark) Thompson of New Castle. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 5 p.m. on Friday May 3, 2013 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel.
