Obituary

Lewisville: Mary Ellen Waggoner, 95, of rural Lewisville, passed away Wednesday July 20, 2011 at her home. Mary was born on August 5, 1915 in Rush County, IN the daughter of the late Lewis Jefferson and Nellie Mae (Sowers) Gordon. Mary has lived in the Rush County area all her life, where she was an homemaker and farmers wife. Mary enjoyed doing needle work, ceramics and raising flowers. Mary was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where she played the piano, the Lewisville Eastern Star #463 and the Raleigh Vol. Fire Dept. Womens Auxiliary. Mary is survived by a son, Michael J. (Susan) Waggoner of Lewisvlle; daughter, Marilyn Jane (Dennis) Witt of Straughn; 4 granddaughters, Teresa (Steve) Huffman, Kim (Steve) Fairchild, Kris (Jamie) Raley and Kerry (Clint) Ellison; 3 grandsons, John Russell (Julia) Witt, Jeffery J.(Brenda) Waggoner and Brandon M. (Shannon) Waggoner; 19 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by husband Clyde Russell Waggoner (April 2, 1999); infant son, Donny Waggoner; grandson, Dennis Joesph "Joey" Witt; great-granddaughter, Oliva Rebecca Waggoner; 2 brothers, Paul & George Gordon; sister, Merle Fecher. Services will be on Monday July 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow at the Raleigh Zion Cemetery in Raleigh. Rev. Peter Zinn and Rev. Arthur Whitaker will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday July 24, 2011 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville.
