LEWISVILLE - Mary Ester (Bunch) Nugen, 100, of Lewisville passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Glen Oaks Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. Mary was born on May 22, 1914 in New Castle to William Mahin and Clara Bell (Arnold) Bunch. She graduated from New Castle High School in 1932. She was married to the late Thomas F. Nugen for 55 years following their May 30, 1935 wedding. They resided all those years on the Nugen family farm west of Lewisville. Mary worked in the office at Chrysler during the early 1930's and at Paul Harris Clothing Store in New Castle during the later part of the 1960's. She is a member of the Lewisville Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women's Association, founding member of the Presbyterian Young People's Group, former member of the New Castle Tri Kappa, Lewisville 2 O'Clock Club and Indianapolis Scottish Rite. Mary was honored as being the oldest alumni at the latest New Castle High School reunion. Survivors include her daughters, Laura Ann Nugen Swayzee-Guffey, Molly B. Nugen, Martha Jane Nugen-Brown; grandchildren, Susan Jane Swayzee-Shelley, Thomas Nugen Swayzee, Holly Ann Guffey, Adam Nugen Brown, Jeffery Matthew Brown, Harper LeAnne Reece; sister Patsy Ruth Bunch-Miller. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Martha Louise Bunch; brothers, Byram Arnold Bunch, George Oliver Bunch. Family and friends may gather from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Lewisville Presbyterian Church, Lewisville. Rev. Peter Zinn and Rev. Arthur Whitaker will officiate. Following cremation, burial will be at Lewisville Cemtery at the convenience of the family.
