DUBLIN - Mary Catherine Smith, 86, passed away Tuesday morning February 27, 2018 at the Waters of New Castle. A daughter of the late Jay and Ida Mae Moffitt, Mary was born in New Castle, Indiana on May 4, 1931. A lifelong member of the Western Wayne community, Mary graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1949. She raised her family south of Pershing and has made her home in Dublin for the last several years. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mary had worked in the business office at Hayes Track in Richmond.

Survivors include 4 sons, Mike (Debbie) of Roseville, CA, Randy (Michelle) and Steve (Cindy) of Cambridge City and Rick (Cheryl) of Dublin; 9 grandchildren, Daryl Smith, Melissa Dick, Jessica Smith, Randi Smith, Sean Smith, Amy Smith-Chasez, Joseph Smith, Karissa Smith and Stacy Blair; 22 great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Smith on January 1, 1985. They were married in Greenfield, Indiana on September 5, 1953; 1 brother and 1 sister.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2018 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Arthur Whitaker will officiate. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
