LEWISVILLE- Martha L. (Fordyce) Stevens, 100, passed away early Tuesday morning June 16, 2026, at Henry County Hospital Emergency Room, in New Castle, Indiana. A daughter of the late Harley Rex and Nellie (Mitchell) Fordyce, Martha was born in Bloomington, Indiana on December 30, 1925. Martha graduated from Bloomington High School in 1944 and married Weldon J. Stevens in Indianapolis on February 10, 1946. Weldon passed away on June 23, 2001. Martha made her home in the Lewisville community for many years and retired on January 8, 1988, from the sewing department at the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home in Knightstown. She was a member of the Center Christian Church. In her leisure, Martha enjoyed crocheting afghans.

Martha is survived by 2 children, Robert J. “Bob” Stevens and Constance J. “Connie” (David) Porter; daughter in-law, Paula (Donn) Stevens; 7 grandchildren, Lisa (Hannum) Taylor, Todd (Gwen) Stevens, Charles (Chun Sun) Porter, Jennifer (David) Terpstra, Ryan (Jennifer) Stevens, Jason and Justin Stevens; 11 great grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Kaden, Kameron and Karson Stevens, William, Josie and Ethan Taylor, Lauren, Kaylee and Claire Terpstra.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Weldon; infant son, David Joseph Stevens; son, Donn Stevens; daughter in-law, Dianna Stevens; sisters, Leon Phyllis and Virginia Mae Fordyce; sister in-law, Leola Jordan.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday June 22nd, 2026. Funeral services will follow the visitation on Monday June 22nd, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel - 115 West U.S. Hwy. 40/ Lewisville, IN 47352. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery, West of Mays, Indiana.
