Lewisville- Martha E. Russell, 92, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning September 20, 2016 at Friends Fellowship Community in Richmond, Indiana. A daughter of the late James and Ruby (Williams) Littrell, Martha was born in Albany, Kentucky on October 21, 1923. Martha has lived most of her life in the Lewisville area and in Richmond for the past ten years. She had worked at Perfect Circle, Modern Fold and Marsh Food Liner. She was a farm wife, enjoyed raising Arabian Horses and was a member of the Henry County Horse Association. Other memberships include the Lewisville Presbyterian Church and its Women's Association and the New Castle Card Group. She was former Brownie Leader and will fondly be remembered for her good cooking and her stylish fashion sense. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Joseph Russell of Richmond. They were married at the Lewisville Presbyterian Church in December of 1984. 1 daughter, Sharon Dee (Jerry) Logan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 3 step children, Diane (Wayne) Loudy and Stephen W. Russell both of Richmond and Cheryl (Ron) Irvin of New Paris, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, Christopher Michael (Stephanie) Logan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Patrick (Wendy) Logan of Sterling, Virginia; 6 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, Charles and Genevieve Logan; 1 sister, Jean Hoover of New Castle. Martha was preceded in death by her first husband of 36 years, Charles W. Patterson on October 16, 1980. They were married on December 23, 1943. 4 siblings, Euthel Lunde, Clyde and James Littrell and Fern Davis. Visitation will be from noon until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Friday September 23, 2016 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Chaplain Sandra Ward-Angell will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery.
