LEWISVILLE- Martha Rose Fairchild, 79, passed away Tuesday afternoon July 26, 2016 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle after a brief illness. A daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen (Allen) Gauker, Martha was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 18, 1936. She has lived most of her life in the Lewisville community. Martha attended Lewisville school, had worked at Reynold's Grocery Store in Straughn and for 18 years, as a cook in the cafeteria at Tri High School. Martha was a member of the Merry Twelve Euchre Club and in her leisure enjoyed spending time with her family, playing BINGO and fishing. Martha is survived b y her daughter, Becky (Bill) Neal of Lewisville, daughter in-law, Sandi Fairchild-Abrams of Kennard; 6 grandchildren, Missy (Hector) Mercedes, Nathan Neal, Ryan (Megan) Fairchild, Ashley Derrickson, Levi and Lacee Fairchild; 10 great grandchildren, Brayden, Kiley and Mason Fairchild, Bryant and Kenley Cornelius, Jordan Thorpe, Brooklyn Chenevert, Liam and Lucian Mercedes, James Rene Floyd; 1 sister, Bonnie Heller of Mansfield, OH. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey R. Fairchild, on November 10, 2012. They were married in Hagerstown on April 25, 1953. 2 sons, David Allen on January 11, 1988 and Kenneth Ray on February 2, 2005; 1 brother, Melvin Gauker on May 1, 2005. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. on Saturday July 30, 2016 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Rev. Larry Stevison will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery.
