Obituary

LEWISVILLE - Marguerite Pauline Clark Green Painter passed away Wednesday, August 19 at Henry County Hospital at the age of 97. Marguerite is survived by her current husband Lowell Painter of Spiceland, Indiana. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends that cross the United States and abroad. Marguerite was born in Cambridge City, Indiana on May 26, 1918. She was daughter to Harry Melvin Clark and Gladis Margaret Burk. Marguerite is preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Harold Richard Green in 1982, son Richard Green in 1965, and her siblings Marjorie Clark, Esther May Clark-Matthews, Charles Benjamin Clark, Robert Clark and Jack Phillip Clark. Marguerite was the loving mother to Richard Green and unselfishly took on the role of mother/sister to her then 2 year old brother Jack Clark after both of their parents passed away at an early age. Marguerite was always keeping her mind busy. She held several different positions with the Farm Bureau Co-Op, finally settling in at the Dunreith location until deciding to retire. She was very active on the South Henry school board during the initial years of Tri Junior-Senior High School, and also served as an elder for the Lewisville Presbyterian Church. She and Lowell attended both the Presbyterian Church and the Spiceland Friends Church. Marguerite loved reading and learning new things. She was an avid book club member and loved to give reviews on her latest book to her book club ladies. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Lewisville Presbyterian Church. Rev. Peter Zinn and Rev. Arthur Whitaker will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday August 27 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the services on Friday at the church.
