Centerville- Margaret M. Pate, 90, of rural Centerville, Indiana passed away Sunday afternoon October 31, 2010 at Golden Rule Nursing Home in Richmond. A daughter of the late Delemar and Bertha (Schuman) Griffith, Margaret was born in Paterson City, New Jersey on September 10, 1920. Margaret and her family moved to Indiana when she was 12 years old . She was raised in the Milton area and attended school there. A homemaker, Margaret and her husband lived in rural Centerville where she enjoyed raising her family, quilting, crocheting and reading books. She was a member of the Cambridge City Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include 2 sons- Allen Pate of Centerville and Leo Pate of Richmond; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren Margaret was preceded in death by her husband- Leo M. Pate on August 14, 2008. They were married in Centerville, Indiana on September 18, 1937.; 1 great granddaughter- Jessica Gonzaga; 2 brothers- Floyd and George Griffith. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon on Wednesday November 3, 2010 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at the Abington Cemetery in Abington.
