LEWISVILLE - W. Lorraine (Cowin) Howe, 87, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her residence in Lewisville. A daughter of the late Albert and Bertha Lenore (Hendricks) Cowin, Lorraine was born on December 18, 1927 in Shelbyville, Indiana. On January 25, 1947 she married Therene E. Howe in Lewisville. A lifelong homemaker, Lorraine took pride in caring for her family and home. In her leisure, she enjoyed reading and word search. Lorraine was a member of the Memorial Wesleyan Church in New Castle, Indiana. Survivors include her children, Sandra (David) England of New Castle, Mickey Stevens of Greenville, Ohio, Pamela (Marcus) Alhands of Lewisville, Bruce (Alice) Howe of Lewisville, Dirk Howe of New Castle, Lance (Paula) Howe of New Castle, Jeffrey (Lora Kim) Howe of Connersville; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Freda Flannery of Milton, Roberta Rummel of Cambridge City, Martha (Bob) Wilson of Ocala, Florida, William Cowin of Pershing; multiple nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Therene E. "Skeek" Howe on October 3, 2008; son, Kevin Mark Howe in January 1984; siblings, Aletha Holmes, Eugene Cowin, Renos Cowin, Sue Carol Brewer. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Memorial Wesleyan Church, 2701 N. Memorial Drive, New Castle, Indiana 47362. Pastors Paul Kirk and Brian Riggs will officiate. Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
