LEWISVILLE - Loretta May (McConnell) Lamb, 92, of Lewisville passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Community North Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born on May 18, 1921 in Knightstown, Indiana to Ernest Glen and Elizabeth Merel (Sorrell) McConnell. Loretta married Roy Lamb in New Castle on January 23, 1942 and has made her home in Lewisville since 1965. Loretta was a cook at the New Castle State Hospital for 20 years before her retirement on May 31, 1981. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in New Castle and enjoyed gardening and yard work, crocheting, latch hook, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Nena Mae Pope of Cadiz, Roy Robert Lamb of New Castle, Richard Eugene Lamb of Knightstown; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters; brothers Ernest McConnell of Straughn, Richard (Amanda) McConnell of Lewisville. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband on September 20, 1965; daughter, Nila Jean Lamb on August 4, 2013; sisters Cleora Brecheisen, Marie Evelyn Prince, Arthela "Fedie"Pierce; brother Robert "Rudy" McConnell; grandson; great-grandson. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville. Jim Limburg will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the funeral home.
