SPICELAND- Lloyd E. Cross, 86, of Spiceland, passed away Tuesday evening September 4, 2012 at the Heritage House in New Castle, Indiana. A son of the late Deo and Ethel (Lorton) Cross, Lloyd was born in rural Henry County, Indiana on July 20, 1926. Lloyd was a graduate of Spiceland High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Perfect Circle-DANA Corporation, New Castle plant, where he worked in the lab. Lloyd was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed his family and working on his farm. He had been a member of the Henry County Civil Defense. Survivors include 2 daughters, Linda (Keith) Williams of Mt. Summit and Carolyn (Rick) Hamilton of Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren, Tonya and Trent Gould, Casey and Ross (Diana) Hamilton all of Indianpolis; 2 great grandchildren; brother inlaw, Richard (Freddie) Whitton of Houston, TX; several nephews; 1 great nephew and 1 great niece. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, the former Martha Whitton on June 13, 2008. They were married in New Castle on October 7, 1950 Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday September 8, 2012 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Chris Sitler of the Dublin Friends Church will offciate. Burial will follow at the Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday September 7 at the funeral home.
