CAMBRIDGE CITY- Linda J. Jones, 67, passed away on Thursday morning January 29, 2015 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. A daughter of the late Jerry Herbert and Hazel A. (Wadman) Day, Linda was born in New Castle, Indiana on December 6, 1947. Formerly of Knightstown and Hagerstown, Linda has made her home in the Cambridge City community since 1967. A homemaker, she loved to spend time with her family and in her leisure she enjoyed playing euchre and BINGO. Linda was a member of the Women's Auxillary of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169. Survivors include 2 children, Mark A. Jones of Cambridge City and Melissa F. Hatfield of Mt. Vernon, KY; 3 grandchildren, Brandi Jones-Hall of Richmond, Dillon Hall of Centerville and Gabby Hatfield of Mt. Vernon, KY; 3 great grandchildren, Austin Jones, Jayci Brockman and Jamason Hall. Linda was also preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Charles "Jack" Jones on September 27, 2001. They were married in Knightstown on March 24, 1967; 2 brothers, Danny and Jerry Day. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, with Rev. Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Memorial Contributions can be made to the donors favorite charity.
