Leroy Joseph Rich, 98, of Lewisville passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 10, 2026, at The Willows of New Castle while surrounded by family following a brief illness. He was born April 2, 1928, in Connersville, Indiana. A son of the late Paul and Nellie Lavone (Richardson) Rich.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen (Lacy) Rich; and his sister Etheleen Warner; children, Robert "Bobby" ( Margarette "Peggy") Rich of Mays, Paul (Gayle) Rich of Lewisville, Tina (Brian) Noah of Rushville; stepsons, Don (Julie) Froderman of New Castle, Charles "Chuck" (Marita) Roberson, of Fort Collins, Colorado; 17 grandchildren, Megan (Shawn) Langley, Rebecca, Sarah, Paul and William Rich, Dillion (Olivia), Austin (Regan), Dalton (Kelsey) Noah, Megan (Clayton) Lower, Ariel Froderman, Hope Froderman-Pattengale, Bryce (Carson) Froderman, Casie (Ben) Mullins, Christian (Kara) and Austin (Nicole) Foote, Matthew (Adrianna) Roberson and Zevida (Austin) Beadle; 21 hreat-grandchildren, Charity Rich, Lincoln, Ernie, Carter and Mephis Noah, Craiger, Alton, Estell and Magnolia Lower, Isla and Everette Pattengale, Isaiah and Grace Foote, Kylie, Aubrey and Logan, Liliana, Amelia and Waylon Roberson, Annalee and Emma Higdon, 3 on the way and his special pet Minnie.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Keith Rich; stepson David Froderman; brother in law John "Bud" Warner; and a great granddaughter Nolah Pattengale.
Leroy graduated from Falmouth High School. He was a lifetime farmer, Minneapolis-Moline dealer, and worked for the post office as a rural mail carrier, retiring as the Postmaster at Falmouth. He was a member of the Minneapolis-Moline Collectors Club, enjoyed tinkering on trackors, attending tractor shows, puttiing up windmills and sawmilling.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at noon on Monday June 15, 2026, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Reverend Jonathan Willmore will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Rush County, Indiana.
