Obituary

CAMBRIDGE CITY - Leo I. Lemmons was born on November 30, 1928 to Eva and Irvin Lemmons, at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond Indiana. Leo was a Wayne County resident, living in Milton, until 1996 when he and his wife Patti relocated to Florida. Prior to moving to Florida Leo enjoyed boating with family and friends at the Brookville Lake and worked part time for the Waskom-Fisher Funeral home. Leo was a graduate of Milton High School where he enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball. After High School he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his Country in war zones aboard the USS Rochester during the Korean War. He received the Navy Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Medal, Occupational Medal, Korean War Medal with 3 Bronze company stars. After an honorable discharge he worked for the Golay Company in Cambridge City. He retired after 24 years with Alcoa, Richmond Works. He was a member of the Milton and Cambridge City Christian Church, a Captain on the Milton/Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department and a V.F.W. member of the Richmond Post. Leo is survived by ...his wife Patti, Son Doug, Grand-Daughter Ashley(Michael), Great Grand Daughters Callie & Ryllie, dauther-in-law Leigh and Grand-Son, Tyler. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Riverside Cemetery, Cambridge City. Fr. John H. Luerman will officiate. Following this service, the family will receive friends from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at The Lakeview Restaurant in Cambridge City to share memories and celebrate Leo's life. Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin has been entrusted with the arrangements.
