CONNERSVILLE - Lena Ellen Smith of Connersville, Indiana passed away at Fair Oaks Rehabilitation Center in South Beloit, IL on Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was 87 years of age. Lena was employed at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio for 30 years before retirement in 1993. While living in Connersville she attended the Connersville Church of God. She was born June 17, 1927 near Richmond, Kentucky to Ora and Josie (Mcintosh) Hisle. Lena attended College Corner High School and God's Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married Thomas Smith Jr. on June 30th 1945 in College Corner, Ohio. Lena was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Smith Jr. and their oldest son Michael Douglas Smith. Lena is survived by her children, Rev. Duane Smith of FL, Katheryn Ellen Laurice (Smith) Letcher of WI, Sharon Annette Smith of WI and Gregory Scott Smith of WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, IN with Rev. Duane Smith officiating. Graveside service will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin, IN.
