LEWISVILLE- Lela Eloise Kiplinger, 88, passed away on April 22, 2013 at the home of her daughter. Linda in Sacremento, California. A daughter of the late Charles Noble and Ruby L. (LeMay) Scott, Lela was born in Knightstown, Indiana on March 19, 1925. Formerly of Henry County and the Knightstown community, Lela had lived in Cambridge City for several years where she owned Kippy's Record Shop and also worked for Mohler's Furniture Store while her husband was the police chief there. She has lived in California for the past 37 years. A devoted wife and mother, Lela's family was her life. She will always be remembered for the special care she provided to her husband and daughter during their lifetime. Survivors include 5 children, Barbara Jo (Donald) Meade, Sarah Jane (Bill) Reiblein, Charles Benjamin (Sandy) Kiplinger, Teresa Ann (Dewayne) Smith and Linda Kay (former husband Rick) Wittmayer; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; 1 sister, Roslyn Bryant; 2 brothers, Marvin and Charles Scott. Lela was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Kiplinger on Nov. 3, 2005; daughter, Wanda Lou Kiplinger on Sept. 29, 2000; 2 siblings, Wilman Scott and Beulah Mae Oldham. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Rev. Marion L. Hickman will officiate.
