NEW CASTLE- Kenneth Harold McCarty, 90, passed away Saturday February 20, 2021 at Stonebrooke Nursing Home in New Castle, Indiana. Kenneth was born in Connersville, Indiana on January 5, 1931. He was raised and lived many years in the Dublin community and attended Lincoln High School in Cambridge City. Kenneth served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired after 40 years of service from DANA Corporation in Hagerstown where he worked in machine repair and supervision. Kenneth enjoyed yard work and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church in New Castle and Cambridge City Masonic Lodge #5 F & AM.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Barbara (Langdon) Mogg- McCarty. They were married in New Castle on May 25, 1991; 1 daughter, Patrice (Kelly) McCarty-Bolin; 2 step- children, Roger (Dawn) Mogg and Melinda (David) Goolsby; 2 grandchildren, Kevin (Colleen) Guffey and Melissa (Wade Garrett) Bolin; 3 step grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Goolsby and Ryan Mogg;
6 great grandchildren, Colten (Madison) Sawyer, Savannah Garrett, Christian, Kendall, Carter and Cameron Guffey; 1 great-great grandson, Clayton Sawyer.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, Lillabell (Johnson) McCarty-Jamison and his step-father, Lewis Jamison; 3 siblings, Helen Wicker, Alice Fisher and Thomas McCarty Sr.; half brother, Clarence Brenner.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Charles Dugger will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
