July 4, 1929 – November 9, 2022
LEWISVILLE- Keith Nugen Allhands, 93, passed away at Henry Community Health, New Castle, Indiana on Wednesday afternoon November 9th, 2022. Born on July 4th, 1929, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Keith was a lifelong Lewisville resident and graduate of Lewisville High School. Keith received his love of farming from his grandparents, Homer and Belle Nugen. He took many naps on the tractor while being held by his grandpa. He was a conservationist and steward of the land. He believed it was everyone's responsibility to take care of the land while here on this earth. He was a good mechanic and known as a great local historian. He gave many high school boys their first job on the farm. Besides farming and spending time with his family, Keith loved to travel. His community involvement included South Henry School Board member, Lewisville Cemetery Board, Treasurer of the Emma Kerr Scholarship Fund, lifelong member and Deacon of Lewisville Presbyterian Church.
Keith is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou (Alexander) Allhands on December 12, 2013. They were married in Indianapolis on September 11, 1948; his parents, Dallas Goodwin Allhands and Mary Alice (Nugen) Whitcomb.
Keith is survived by his three children, Marcus (Pamela) Allhands, Keith W. (Linda) Allhands, and Katherine Searcy; nine grandchildren, Amy Richmond, Tamara Porter, Abby Means, Hannah Burke, Mary Smith, Ruth Allhands, Erik, Kurtis, and Nathaniel Searcy; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday November 18, 2022, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. His son Keith will officiate. A burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Lewisville Chapel on Thursday November 17th, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. Memorial Contributions can be made to Lewisville Cemetery- P.O.
