DUBLIN- Juanita Dungan, 86, passed away on Sunday morning April 7, 2013 at Rush Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Indiana. She has been a resident of Flatrock River Lodge since January. A daughter of the late Ralph and Goldie (Shephard) Burris, Juanita was born in Richmond, Indiana on June 11, 1926. She has lived most of her life in the Dublin community. Juanita earned her private pilots license and enjoyed flying airplanes. During World War II she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol . Juanita was a member of the Cambridge City Church of the Nazarene and worked hard to serve the people of her community. During the Vietnam War she started a personal mission of sending local service men care packages and greetings from home in appreciation of their service to our country. She made sure prayers were said for each of them at weekly church services. A homemaker, she had also worked at Perfect Circle in Richmond, enjoyed roller skating, gardening and working puzzles. Survivors include her 4 children, Linda Wright of Hagerstown, Timothy Allan Dungan of Arkansas, Douglas Darrell Dungan of Pacific, MO and Penny (David) Lanning of Rushville; many grand and great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Maxine Fiedler fo Dublin and Wilma Hughes of Connersville; several nieces and nephews. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Marvin D. Dungan on May 31, 2005. They were married in New Castle on October 18, 1952.; 1 son, Rickey Dungan on February 25, 2013; 1 daughter, Linda Taylor on February 8, 2008 and an infant brother, William "Billy" Shephard. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 13, 2013 at the Dublin Gospel Mission Church. Rev. Daryl Bertram will officiate. Burial will follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday April 12 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.
