DUBLIN- Joseph Paul McCullough Sr July 7th 1940 - January 19th 2012 Joseph was born to the former Esther (Abbott) and Loring E. McCullough. He was a 1958 Graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City, Indiana. After graduating he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp. He was Stationed at Camp Pendleton, California for basic training. Then he went to Quantico, Va. for Embassy Guard School. After his active duty he came back to Cambridge City where he met and married the Love of his Life Joan Mobley McCullough on November 3, 1963. He worked for Fowler Automatic. Perfect Circle (Dana Corp) Hagerstown, Indiana where he retired in 1993. After Retiring from Dana Corp. he went to truck driving school and took a job with JB Hunt. When family illnesses brought him in from the road he took a job at Richmond Recycle in Richmond Indiana where he loved his job, his truck and the friends that he had made there. He loved to have a place to go every morning. After moving to Dublin, Indiana he was a member of the Dublin Vol. Fire Department for 15 years. He was and E.M.T. for Marshall Ambulance Service in Dublin, coached little league baseball and was a member of the Dublin Community Club, An active member of the American Legion in Hagerstown, He enjoyed fishing, camping with friends and family, watching football (the Colts) with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He was the proud father of Tamera McCullough (Jerry) Jarboe of Dublin, Joseph P. McCullough Jr. (Tauni) of Centerville, Indiana and James Loring McCullough (Kristi) of Cambridge City. He was the beloved grandfather of Justin Edwin-McCullough Jarboe (Tracy) Florence Ky, Jacob Robert Jarboe (Alison) Dublin, Joseph Ross Jarboe (Payton) Dublin. Joshua McCullough (Clair) of Richmond, Toria McCullough of Centerville, Kaleb Lee McCullough , Cambridge City, and Lilith Emily McCullough of Cambridge City. He was the Greatest Poppie to Kahlyn Mae Jarboe, Zoie Marie Jarboe, and Sophie D. Jarboe. He was known as Grandpa Joe to many kids Six special one's were Drew, Brad and Landon Brownell of Centerville. Stephanie, Sabrina, and Shauna Moore of Irvine, Ky. He leaves behind very special friends Jim Marshall, Bill Kiser and Danny Wicker, He is preceded in death by his parents Esther and Loring E. McCullough; sisters- Mildred Dorgan, Marjorie Whileman, Priscilla Snider; brother Loring E. McCullough Jr.; father-in-law Minor Mobley. He is survived by his wife Joan; sisters Freda (James) Riden, and Betty (Bill) Mathies; brother Gene (Jana) Broglin; 46 nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. A special brother-in-law and partner in crime Jake Breeden. To all the Nurses and PCT's on 5 east, with special mention to Kelly, Rhonda, Elaine, Iesha, Nancy and Doug, you were his angels and his friends. He loved you ! Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday January 23, 2012 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. The Reverends Danny Berry and Brian Justice will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday January 22 at the funeral home.
